Hello eggblog team,

my name is Florian Martens and I am writing from germany. I want to release a web-design portal here in germany under the domain www.imoyo.de . This
portal should contain more then html and css "programming". So I have decided to
include more about "web-2.0" like wikis, cms and blogware.
The reason why I have contact you is about the usage of the "dotclear"
trademark :

Am I allowed to use your trademark in my url ? ( e.g.
www.imoyo.de/eggblog )
Am I allowed to use "eggblog" in my metatag-description and
site-description?
Am I allowed to give my visitors support in a forum ?
Am I allowed to make a detailed desciption for usage of your programm ?
Am I allowed to use your logo on my site ?
Am I allowed to upload videos of your programm on youtube.de ? ( e.g. Installing dotclear on xampp )
Am I allowed to use your trademark as name for a subdomain ?
My website is commercially, but all content is available for free.

Eggblog has no trademark and the script is full of security holes.
And the 'support' is under all critic due to lack of time, i suppose.
But if you want to do some PR for eggblog, please go ahead! [cool]

Well that's a half useful anonymous post!

eggBlog is not trademarked, however there are intellectual property rights involved. Quite simply, you can use eggBlog is its for non-commercial use. If its for a commercial website (a website that carries advertising or generates revenue) or you wish to remove the "powered by eggblog" tag then you will need to purchase a licence: http://eggblog.net/news.php?id=17

As for security holes, there are non that have been brought to my attention if the package is used as described so please don't post false reports as this.

Hmm... "8,570 results..." and still counting...

Some other things:
Do not force us to pay your 'Open Source' through google ads:
google_ad_client = "pub-8685753959628988" in _lib/global.php

You have to do a simpler installation than current raw code way.
Until then, attach instructions of how to install in the dist-files.

And please, spend a little more time to support your users!

Thankfully v4.0 was released in February 2008 so I think we should discuss a version that is more up-to-date?

I can confirm that no vunerabilities have been reported for the current version.

The advertising was tested in a single previous release and this was made clear at the time. No banners exist in the current release.

I ask again, please do not post false reports and do only use this forum constructively. You are only embarassing yourself in your attempts to discourage other users.

Dear Egg!

There is no need to humiliate us who want to help you.

You must seriously study the results from search yahoo:
vulnerability eggBlog 4
Then you can find that current version have security holes.

After you have closed the security holes listed in yahoo etc,
you can delete your google ads, still, in your current version.
We have downloaded the latest version from sourceforge.net

I have integrated nicEdit with image uploader in eggBlog
and 'polished up' your code so it can validate XHTML 1.1.

I am setting up a domain where you and everyone else
can study Open Source codes with or without my 'polish'.
All OS codes are reviewed by me, my team and user polls.
